The 2011 SAAHE conference is hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences, North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus) in collaboration with the Tswane University of Technology and the Universities of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, Limpopo and Pretoria. We envision that the 4th SAAHE conference will build on the legacy of the previous National Conferences and that delegates will enjoy the tranquility of Potchefstroom.
The steering committee is proud to present the conference theme “TEACHING TO CURE – TEACHING TO CARE: Balancing the dynamics in health sciences education” for the 4th National SAAHE conference. The purpose of this conference is to bring as many health educators, practice supervisors, practitioners and students together to discuss inter-professional health sciences education, with particular focus on multi-disciplinary views on health, wellness promotion and fortology. Health educators within our own borders and abroad already indicated their willingness to participate in the conference.
This conference would like to build on the identity of SAAHE by providing network opportunities for colleagues in the field of health sciences education and to facilitate learning and motivating scholarship through pre-conference workshops, keynote addresses, research presentations, debates, café conversations and informal discussions.
We would like to invite you to come and participate in discussions related to the dynamics in health sciences education. Pre-conference workshops will start on 29 June 2011 and the conference will stretch from 30 June to 2 July 2011.
We and the oaks in Potchefstroom look forward to welcoming you here.
Kind regards
Alida Herbst
